| AMSOIL - History |
AMSOIL INC. was founded by Al Amatuzio (USAF Retired - Lieutenant
Colonel Albert J. Amatuzio) in 1972.
Prior to founding AMSOIL, Amatuzio was a fighter pilot, line maintenance
officer, and squadron commander. Using
synthetic
lubricants in the jet engines he maintained, he was acutely aware
of the significant technical
advantages of using synthetic oil over petroleum-based engine
oil.
The company was initially named "Amzoil", an abbreviation
for; "Amatuzio's
Oil." It was later changed to "AMSOIL".
In February 1994, Lubricants World magazine honored Amatuzio by
inducting him into their "Hall of Fame" as the pioneer
in synthetic motor oil.
In August 2005, AMSOIL and its founder, Al Amatuzio, were featured
on The History Channel's Modern Marvels documentary "Lube
Job" as a visionary and revolutionist in the modern motor
oil market. |

| Marketing & Sales |
AMSOIL is a privately
held company that has chosen to distribute their products
via an MLM-based network comprised of Dealers who sell synthetic
oil, lubricants and performance products to wholesale customers (non-dealers
- called
Preferred Customers), retail accounts and commercial accounts.
AMSOIL has maintained this distribution network for a number of reasons based
primarily on it's success at several fronts:
- "Pay per Performance" sales models are more effective. Excess overhead
is eliminated, holding down overall product cost for the consumer.
- The MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) structure encourages a multi-level support
basis for everyone "downline"
including:
- AMSOIL Dealers
- Preferred Customers
- Retail Accounts
- Commercial Accounts
- Catalog Customers
- "Pay per Performance" sales models encourage a strong product knowledge
base and a ready supply of informative materials including leading laboratory
test results.
- "Pay per Performance" sales models are more effective in providing
end user product support, positively affecting AMSOIL
Customer Satisfaction.
